In October 2007, the Project Management Institute announced the development of a new credential within the specialty area of project risk management, now formally introduced as the PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)SM. The Specialty Credential Project Team is excited to announce the global launch of this new credential
Our near term objective is to secure at least 100 approved risk management credential candidates to take the examination during the incentive period between 29 August and 31 October 2008. This will enable PMI to establish an official cut-score in a timely manner. The eligibility includes the need for 30 contact hours of education in project risk management. In order to attract enough eligible candidates to establish scoring, we are asking them to begin the application process, register for classes and start studying now so that they can meet the eligibility requirements.
